About the event

Spend an enjoyable Summer's evening over at Grandma's Garden, a sustainable local cut flower garden, based in Southam Cheltenham with Emma from Nature's Inspiration creating a botanical casting of real flowers.

Upon arrival (6pm) you will be greeted with a glass of homemade foraged, by Emma, elderflower cordial and sparkling water. We will then take a tour with Amy of Grandma's Garden and Emma of the micro cut flower farm before choosing at least 5 stems per person to cast. Emma will bring a few examples for you to peruse and use as inspiration.

We will be focussing on flowers which give a strong impression on clay for a beginner friendly workshop. You will learn how to condition your chosen clay (white for a cleaner look or grey for an antique finish) before creating an imprint of your chosen blooms (meadow grasses will also be available to create a meadow composition if you wish).

Once you have created your impression learn how to create a mould before you discover how to mix your very own eco-resin (gypsum powder and water) and pour in to create your bas-relief.

Once you have filled your moulds whilst curing we will celebrate with nibbles and a glass of prosecco or non-alcoholic elderflower fizz. (Please advise any allergies or dietary requirements).

Before the evening draws to a close you will learn how to finish your pieces ready to take home with you and treasure.

Parking is available and spaces are limited to please do book early to avoid disappointment. £55pp including all tuition, materials, nibbles and refreshments.

**Please note if we are expecting rain on the day of the workshop we might pre-pick stems to ensure they aren't soaking wet with the clay and casting materials.
